My name is Rachel Anne Jones, and am I'm an illustrator in the SF Bay Area in San Jose, California, I like to design mostly for children's media, and I'm not so concerned with the medium--let it be pencil, pen, paint, lasers, or stainless steel, as long as I get to tell stories and keep making stuff.

My love of making stuff started as a young kid trying to make perfume out of carnations (doesn't work), went through my Bachelors in Illustration at BYU when I was trying to make a chandelier for our kitchen out of plumbing supplies (unfortunately didn't work), to now as I still take whatever classes I can to learn new illustration techniques, computer programs, and traditional media. The more I learn about different methods, the easier it is to stay creative.

Writing these tutorials is not only a lot of fun, but most importantly, I learned that each new technique I try, not only makes me step a little out my comfort zone, but helps me to learn to enjoy it.
