Navy Blue, White, and Gold Living Room

source
A while back, I was considering a navy, white, gray, and rose pink bedroom color palette, mostly because our new room is already painted blue, and we have a gray and pink duvet.

I haven't done anything with our room so far. I was going to go ahead with the above color palette until I randomly found the photo at the top of this post.

Something in my head just clicked - this is the color scheme that I want to go with. We already have an older, tan-colored duvet, so since our shelving is already white, it won't be too much of a shift. I also already have these West Elm rugs that will go perfectly with this color palette:

I want to be careful to make sure it doesn't look too traditional or old-fashioned, so I think I will do that by adding some modern artwork and an updated lighting fixture - although our current fixture looks to be an original from the early '60s, and I'm kind of into it. Maybe adding a lamp like this? It would tie in the look of the birch logs from my inspiration photo:

What do you think of these colors? Do you like the idea of navy, white, and gold, or do you prefer my original idea with the rose pink? It's kind of odd that I want to go either of these routes, considering blue is one of my least favorite colors to decorate with, but it is a very calming color for a bedroom.

  2. Pink and navy!?!? Love it! That is great . . . I'm pretty bad/lazy about making any room in my house themed or pulled together looking, but this is extraordinarily tempting. xoxo

  4. These are beautiful photos! I really like the idea of vamping it up with some modern art work but the color scheme is beautiful!

  5. I'm glad you guys like it! This will be my first real attempt at pulling a bedroom together - we've always had apartments before and I never really cared to paint there.
