Next home project: the entryway

In the mean time, I'm moving on to the entryway. This room doesn't need to be fixed up just for the looks, though - there are some serious functionality issues at hand.
So here is a picture of the current entry way. Again, these are all the belongings of the previous owners, but the walls are still the teal/green color:
We still have a door mat as soon as you walk in, but we need:
- a designated place for shoes
- a coat rack or coat hooks
- a shelf or table for mail and keys
- a chair or bench to sit down and put on shoes
- a nice piece of art or a mirror to give the space some character
So, here are my three favorite entryways for inspiration:

So, do you have a designated entryway? What does yours look like? What is something you've done with it to make sure it stays clean and organized?

My entry way is def. not as pretty as any of these :( We rent and I can wait until we have our own home so we can do projects like this! Love your blog...lots of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWow, I LOVE those entryway photos! The branch bench is so, so amazing. It must be so much fun to decorate your own space and have it look exactly the way you want! I can't wait till I can paint my walls, hehe :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Thank you! And I know what you mean. We just moved from an apartment in August, and our entryway was like a dark cave! It was always sort of a bummer to walk into.
ReplyDelete@Katie - I think the branch bench is one of my favorites - I just don't think it's in my budget :-/. It's either get so-so pieces now, or save up, wait a long time for the entryway to be functional, and have awesome pieces.
